Students lose two days this week for Interim Assessments. Starting on Wednesday, students will launch Unit 5, Linear Models of Bivariate Data, and begin learning about scatter plots, association, and causation.
Students finish Unit 4 this week! Students learn how to graph/write Systems of Inequalities and how to write Systems of Equations given tables. The students take their Unit 4 Open-Note Test and will complete test corrections, missing work, or extra credit during our shortened pride day on Friday.
Students start the week off with a mid-unit assessment and then move on to learning how to find solutions for systems of equations using elimination and matrices. Students end the week with real world applications word problems and a stations rotation covering all methods of solving systems of equations.
After completing Unit 3, students will launch the Unit 4, Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities, organizer. Students will start learning how to find solutions using graphs and substitution this week.
This week, the students learn how to graph linear inequalities before wrapping up the Unit. On Thursday we will review all the topics and on Friday we will have our Unit 3 exam.
**Edit: This lesson plan was changed to include another day going over transformations on Thursday and to review on Friday. The test was pushed back.
Students start off the week with a quiz, move into sequences and transformations, and end the week with a pride day exploration!
This week students learn how to convert point-slope form into slope-intercept form, about standard form, and parallel and perpendicular lines.
With a day off on Monday and a change of plans in the previous week, this lesson plan will actually launch Unit 3. We start with Slope-Intercept form, review vertical and horizontal lines, and close with Point-Slope form.
This weeks' lessons are interrupted by PSAT testing and a day off from school. We review Unit 2, have our Unit 2 exam, and Launch Unit 3.
**Edit: this lesson plan was changed in which instead of launching Unit 3 on Thursday, students completed test corrections and worked on activities for bonus points.
This weeks lessons focus on slope, x and y intercepts, direct variation, and mixed practice!
This weeks lesson plan wraps up domain and range and introduces function notation and slope.
This weeks lesson plan wraps up unit 1 and launches unit 2, starting with domain and range.
